Open house and community day was a hit!
Success has a new definition. It can be defined as Saint Augustine’s University (SAU) Open House and Community Day. On Saturday, April 12, the university began the day with its annual spring open house. Parents and prospective students traveled to the university to learn about the various academic programs as well as meet faculty, administrators and current students and tour the campus.
“The Office of Admissions welcomed more than 300 guests to our annual Spring Open House,” said Dean of Enrollment Management Jorge E. Sousa. “This year’s attendance for open house was a record turnout for the university. Our guests traveled from as far as Maryland, Virginia, Alabama, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York and across the state of North Carolina to join us. I personally want to thank everyone involved for making the open house so successful!”
The open house began with the Superior Sound Marching Band having everyone in the filled to capacity Seby Jones Auditorium get on the feet and move to the Falcon beat. They also moved to the cheers of the Blue Chips cheerleaders. Following all of the excitement, parents and prospective students attended workshops. Following open house, they had an opportunity to enjoy the university’s community day which took place on the lawn in front of Goold Hall. Community Day featured face painting, slide inflatables, music, vendors, video games and food such as hamburgers, hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn.
The day of information and festivities ended with the Blue and White scrimmage game at SAU stadium. The Blue was victorious over the White with a final score of 26-24.
